The following instructions cover two popular email services: Yahoo’s Email and Google’s Gmail. It is a matter of personal preference which you choose to use. Yahoo has a new email interface very similar to Microsoft Outlook, so for those of you familiar with Outlook, Yahoo may be much easier.
Yahoo Mail
1. Go to www.yahoo.com and click Sign Up on the upper right-hand side of the page.
2. Fill out the following form, and be sure to choose a memorable password. Fill out the security questions truthfully, as this information will be asked if you ever forget your password.
3. After submitting the form, click Continue Without Installing Toolbar.
4. To use the new Mail Beta, click Try It Now. This Beta looks much like Outlook and is entirely free. Otherwise, click No thanks, remind me later.
5. That’s it! To login from anywhere that has internet access, just go to www.yahoo.com and enter the ID and password you filled out in step 2.
Gmail
1. Go to www.gmail.com and click Sign Up for Gmail below the logon boxes.
2. Fill out all the information. Make sure the password is easy for you to remember, and fill out the security question honestly, as this information will be needed should you forget your password.
3. After submitting the form, click I’m Ready – show me my account in the upper right-hand portion of the page.
4. That’s it! To login from anywhere that has internet access, go to www.gmail.com and enter the ID and password you filled out in step 2.
